I have owned my mini mare for a year and a half and we have made good progress with some of her bad habits like being disrespectful to lead and kicking when you touch her anywhere near her belly.
But the one habit I am stuck on is her desire to bite whenever she gets a chance. She has never actually bitten me but have had some close calls and I have to be very vigilant when she is getting her feet done to make sure she doesn't take a chunk out of my farrier.
I have tried making her move, like backing her up quickly but that's not always easy especially when she is tethered. Growling or putting my elbow out to push her head back works, but not for long. At some point soon I may sell her and get a second riding horse and I would really like to break this habit first.
Any tips would be great as I have never dealt with a biter in my years of riding. Thanks
