We had two minis, one for me and one for my sister, and while my sister didnt show too much interest, I idolized my Little Dipper. I taught him tricks, I jumped him, and I taught him how to drive, unfortunately I had to make a decision between the big horses and little, and while I loved the little guys, I couldnt give up riding, and it was hard to find Mini shows around my area to get involved in, but I thought I would just share a picture of me with him, I still visit him at his new home, where this picture was taken. This is one of my favorite pictures, he would literally climb in my lap, he loved attention (and treats of course!)
Oh, so sorry you had to choose between horses like that.
Sounds like you made the right choice for yourself though, and that is perfect being able to still go visit him when ever you like!
He is adorable!!! I am glad you sold him to a friend. That makes it easier, I think.
I worry sometimes...I have two minis that I adore, but they have another 20+years in their life span. What if, God forbid, I lost my house or had to move? I guess I could board them somewhere, but that is quite an expense. It is hard to know what will happen in the future, but you gotta do the best you can...sounds like you did great for him!
Its good that at least you can still see him! I know how sad it is to have to choose between horses, I had to choose between my first horse, my trainer, and then my sister's horse that she abandoned, and that has become my show horse, until he got injured. Sometimes you need to make sacrifices, and I'm sorry you had to choose! Hopefully you like your choice you made, and will never regret it!
Selling a horse you love is always really hard. I absolutely hate going through the process, but sometimes it's the best decision you can make. He sounds like he's doing well in his new home. Good for you for doing what was best. It's an adorable picture
