They didn't cooperate in liberty today, but oh well, I had fun :) It's Design's first show (liberty was her first class) so she's not quite comfortable there yet. Midnight was being a butthead today (majorly in his color class lol he would NOT stand still for the conformation part!) but that's him... he has moments he's wonderful, but a lot more that he's a brat haha! I had someone tell me they liked my stallion... they were shocked when I told them he's a gelding! And Carl, the mini horse dentist, suggested I discuss putting him on regumate with my vet! THAT'S how bad Midnight can be sometimes! Man, if he were a stallion... I'd have killed him by now! (kidding) :)

My friend is showing his team in multi hitch tomorrow for their first time away from home! I would love to see it but I'm in a combined driving show instead :( I'll be back at the TOC on Sunday though :) In the morning I"m doing ammy driving obstacle with Midnight, then perfoming with the drill team on the lunch break, then we're in AOTE classic pleasure driving. And then towards the end Design is in multi color mares.

After I wrote that post, I remembered your pics from the drill team site, and realized it was YOU, not a daughter... ooops!

Design was dealing with a lot of new stuff then, being her first timeout, I am sure she will do better each time.
Midnight has a split personality huh? I think we all have our good and bad days.
If we are in the house Sunday I am hoping to catch more of the show, so I will keep my eye out for you again!

Hope you had a great time at the combined driving on Sat.!

    Hehe! :)

Had fun at the driving comp, although my horse Chili was half asleep for dressage and cones! Oh well, still fun! Barely made it there in time. I was up most of the night as I have a mare due to foal NOW (milk test says tonight) so I was up all night watching her. Then since she didn't foal we had to take her with us in case! It's close to a two hour drive and all my horsey friends were either there or at the TOC, so she had to come along! So hopefully she foals tonight (which she very well should!) so I don't have to take her to TOC tomorrow! I only have one stall and two show horses (they can share a stall and I borrowed a stall divider from a friend) so if we have to take her, someone has to stay in the trailer (which is ok as it's a big two horse slant and when I open the slant it makes a nice little stall for a mini, but I'd rather not have to)

Glad you had a fun day!
I am so happy to hear that you took your pregnant mare with you. I have heard of way too many foals, and Mares, not making it through the delivery this year.
Seems like a very bad year for foaling ?

Hope she foals for you tonight and things all go nice and easy for every one!
Probably not going to get much sleep tonight again either way huh?

PLEASE post your baby pics! One can never get enough of those!

Good luck tomorrow at the show.
I am going to miss watching Sunday, which is bad.
We are going to be out driving our own minis with some friends, which is good.

Let me know how you do!

Congratulations on your brand new Colt!
That is wonderful! So happy for you.

So she had him in in the middle of the night? I bet it was hard to leave for the show that day! I know I would have been really torn about making the decision to stay home or go to the show.... Hope they are both doing really well, look forward to baby pics!

    And how was Sunday's showing?
I missed the whole day, but did get have fun with our friends and own minis.

She had him at 9:14 at night, so not late! :) Of course I was up until midnight making sure all was well and getting the pics online to share lol!

Show went well. Midnight was a brat for driving obstacle. He did everything, but not pretty, he was fighting me a bit, wanted to MOVE not go slow and steady lol! Our drill routine went great. AOTE Classic Pleasure we got 3 5ths and a 4th (four judges). Then in multi color Design got 3 3rds and a first! :) Her pinto markings aren't wild and not symetrical on each side, which some judges really like, so the First place was super nice to me! :)

Glad you had fun with your friends and minis! :)

Now I"m waiting on my second mare due... Jewel foaled on her due date lol ;)

(I found your baby pics on another thread, so I will not repeat myself)

So, do you drive Midnight for the drills, since he likes to get out there and go?
I really wanted to watch the obstacle driving classes, were there many entries?

    Still bummed about missing Sunday...

Getting that 1st place with Design in multicolor does not surprise me, I think she is a looker! I think it would be hard to judge that class, do they also look at conformation, or is it strictly markings?

I'll be watching for notice of the next birth!
Will that be all for this year then?

Midnight is a GREAT drill team horse! He knows his job but yet doesn't get confused if we change positions (some horses get so used to the routine, if you put them in a different spot they want to go their normal way lol) and he can catch up or slow down if needed. We do a lot of parades with the team as well, he's not so good with those. Nothing bothers him as in the crowds or things, but he HATES waiting around and thinks the pace is too slow lol!

I wasn't near the ring for the in hand or the open and youth driving, but I think there were 9 in the ammy driving obstacle class I was in?

In AMHA it's 80 percent judged on color and 20% on conformation (in Midnight's color class he would NOT stand still AT ALL for the confo part, I'm surprised two judges placed him better than last lol!). In AMHR it's 100% color.

I have another mare due in May. I have them on marestare if you want to try to catch their births. If you go to www.marestare.com and click for the cam link page, then click CheyAut Ranch. Last I saw it still said mine is off and not flash, but that's incorrect ;)
