I believe all horses are different, I myself would not put a miniature in with my full size horses, nice or not, to much can go wrong, and I for one do not need the extra vet bills, for any injuries. Although some say they have had minis in with full sizes horses may work for them , great...I have to much invested to take a chance. All horses will have a bad, at some point...:)

I know of someone with a 17.3 hand warmblood, kept company by a mini. The mini rules the roost! Farrier, dentist, and vet bills will still be expensive, but feed bill will be much less

We keep show miniatures, and they are 100% kept separate from our big horses. We've kept grade ponies with our big horses, but there's just so much at risk with the little ones (and ours are only weanlings at the moment), but they're too valuable to be possibly trampled by my big paint gelding.

Like people have been saying, it depends greatly on the horse's personality.

I used to board one of my minis with an old appy gelding. You have to gradually get them used to each other, because a lot of horses FREAK when they see another equine of such small size. A good idea would be to have a "trial run" with your potential mini, to see if the two get along. It would be a shame for you to buy another horse, just for them to not get along and you having to seperate them...or worse.

Actually, I just made a post today on my blog, The Miniature Horse Network, about if minis are right for you. It may help you out. HERE is the link.

Hope that helps,
