Mini, Shetland, Or Show pony?

I got a "mini" about 3 years ago. However I measure her the other day at 44"! She is four years old and approximatly 325 lbs. What in the world would this make her? I was told mini but there is no way! If she is some sort of pony, is it safe to ride her? Nothing much, just short rides by my sister. I will get some pictures today but in the meantime there are some of her in my "my horses" tab, her name is misty :)

Well she can't be a purebred mini, as they only run to about 38 inches tall. Do you have any pictures? If she isnt a mini (and ther a 99% chance she's not) I'd think it would be safe to ride her if your sister is young and not heavy, at a walk and trot or so. Ponies are very strong animal. She could be a shetland, shetland cross, or other small breed, but my guess would be shetland. We have one that is her height.
