Mini water intake

I am taking care of a friends mini and he doesn't drink much water. My horses drink 15-20 gallions a day.

I asked my friend about it and she didn't know as she uses a large trough for several.
At my place I am filling a bucket and he is barely drinking a gallion a day. Is that normal?

As long as he seems in good health, I wouldn't worry. I've had horses and dogs, whom I never thought drank enough and others who seemed to drink a great deal.

That sounds pretty normal, I wouldn't be over worried about it. Just make sure hes always got access to the water and he'll be fine.

I wouldn't worry overmuch. If your friend thinks this is concerning, she can start feeding the little guy some electrolytes [mix equal parts baking soda and salt].
