But how are O So and Pippin coming along?

Have they been in together yet?
    Any more pics to share?

First off, Hobbs is very nice looking!

Now, yes, yes I do have more pics! LOL A lot!

They are doing great. I put them together the next day. They appeared to be fighting, but it was just establishing dominance and playing at the same time! I tried to separate them a dinner time, but once O So disappeared into his stall, Pippin started whinnying and pacing. So after I let him eat what he would eat, between pacing, I let them back together. I was going to separate them that night, but changed my mind once I saw how well they were getting along.

The next day I went and bought another feeder for Pippin. I was going to put it outside under the old shelter for O So, but changed my mind. I put it right in the stall I have O So's feeder in. I just put it in the corner down the wall from O So's. I was amazed to see what happened. When I fed I gave them both the same amount of feed. They went to a feeder each, and stayed there. I was amazed. So now feeding is really easy too. I decided to feed them the same stuff, even though O So was not on Stable Mix. He now gets a glass full too. Eventually I will most likely wean them both back off of it and feed my original Hay and Strategy, but for now they both get a little Strategy, little bit of Stable Mix and Orchard Hay. I have cut down the amount that they get of the Strategy and Stable Mix, but pretty much feed the hay free choice. I decided to go this route because Pippin was on the Stable Mix and it was to hard to separate them at feedings. I didn't want to just cold turkey quit feeding Pippin the Mix, and I knew O So is really great about making changes, so figured this was the best route to go.

Wow, kind of got into the feeding thing! LOL Anyway, they are the best of buds now, already! They share the stall, mainly to eat. They like to stay outside for the most part.

Pippin is a bit shy, but he is also very curious. If O So comes over to me, then Pippin is right behind, but wont get to close. He will get close enough to smell my hand and let me touch his nose, but that is about it. If I try to get closer he will walk off. I am able to catch him though. So that is good.

Today I haltered them both and tied them up side by side, with about 3 ft between them. It was fun to clean on horses feet, then go the other, then brush one, then the other. Pippin is pretty good at letting me do all that. Only thing I have found that he doesn't care for me to do is mess with is "stuff". So that will take some work, but hopefully I will succeed in time.

I better shut up and show some pics! LOL

Here are a couple of videos.

The first one is their first meeting. I actually stopped filming to break them up, but then started shooting again and you can see them drinking from the same bucket!

Here is another video. It is over 4 minutes long though, so not dial up friendly!

I have some more settled down pics but I haven't updated them to my Photobucket yet!

AHHHH! It's so precious!! I'm not normally a huge mini horse fan, but they are just so cute when they're fuzzy, small, chubby, and have that little dip in their face(: ahh just so cute!!

Oh, thank you. After seeing more pics of Pippin, he has that white underbelly that Hobbs does not have.
He really has some unique coloration there!
Love to see him all shed out....(do you body clip?)

That's really fantastic that they are getting along pretty well all ready.
Does your heart good huh !?!

Looks like little Pippin is trying to be the dominant one doesn't it?
    I enjoyed watching the videos!
I don't know if it does any thing for your minis, but listening to your birds and the fountain running sure made me relaxed!

So happy to hear all is going well with the two of them!

Yah, some people on another forum call him a "mule" bay. Does make since because he looks like a mule with out the long ears! LOL Maybe I can get some ears for him come halloween! Maybe that is why I fell in love with him, I love donkeys and mules!!

Do I clip? I really don't know yet! LOL I have never had a mini go through the winter to summer yet. I got O So in July and he already had his short coat and then grew in his long coat. He is shedding pretty fast right now so I don't know if I will have to clip him. As far as Pippin, he isn't shedding like O So. I really don't see the hair coming off like on O So's coat. So I may have to attempt it on him. I will for sure clip his beard off. LOL I'm not a fan of that, but decided to leave it for now. Depending on how he does, I may enter him in a fuzzy furry show. So he will need that beard to help him win. I shaved O So's beard off as it grew in. I just think they look better with out it, and really they don't need it where I live!

Thanks for the compliments on him. I really appreciate it.

Oh, on the birds, you should hear them when they are sreaming at the top of their little lungs! LOL They get loud. My neighbor around the block from me, say's he can hear them at times.

The fountain I like it too. My hubby is always trying to get me to let him take it out of the pond. I just like the noise it makes so I won't let him. Although, I have been thinking of getting rid of the pond altogether. It would give the horses more room to play. I figure if the one fish I have in there ever dies, I will get rid of it. For now it will stay though.

You asked for it! LOL Here are some more. They are all from the same day. The weather has gone back to being wet and yucky so I haven't been able to go out and take any newer pics!

I lightened this one up a little. I just loved how Pippins tail is, but it was so dark you couldn't see much of him.

Ok, I'll stop there, for now!! LOL
