Smile Passing time, winter dulldrums.....

Needless to say we have lots of snow and it is not pleasant to be outside for long.

The Mini Section seems to be dying down a bit of late too!
So
thought I'd start a kind of fun thread to get every one in the holiday spirit.

Some one else on the forum got me looking into that Picnik, free photo "editing", so I have been playing around with it some.
I have not done all my horses, but here are three of my minis, and Duke, (or part of Duke) that I did so far.
Just a silly and kind of fun way to spend time indoors "with" my horses.

Any one feel free to ad any festive type pics of your horses, or winter activities that help you pass the time!

Hi there SLCS!!!

Love those pictures! The first one is probably the most beautiful and festive! I like the last one for it's "artsiness." LOL, is that a word? I have a similar pic of Bruno that I had matted and framed.

It is in the 50s today and everyone here talks like that is soooo cold! Tonight I will be blanketing the minis as it will be in the 30s...VERY cold for south florida! My minis are clipped...but Boo's coat grew back quickly, so I don't blanket them unless it is under 50 degrees.

I will have to play around with that Picnik thingy. I am very computer illiterate, though...I am kind of intimidated! Wish you could come over and show me in person!!!

Have a great day...I am pouring my coffee now, going to jump in the shower.

I guess I need ideas on how to pass the time. So bored. Been snowing, and now we have wind chills below 20. OoooO fun! What is Picnik?

LOL, I am very computer illiterate myself dirtymartini...
(I still love that framed photo of Bruno! I need to do that with some of my pics, I just have such a hard time deciding on THE pic I want to do for each horse, so I am stalled at that point I guess....)
But, I do like to play around and see what I can figure out now and then.
Especially with such "lovely" weather outside.
Sounds like mbender can commiserate with me on that!

I don't want to make this an advertisement for picnik, but it is VERY simple to use, if I can do it, any one can!
Here is the site Picnik
I did not sign up, I just use the free stuff.

Just go upload a pic and then explore through all the different tabs and see what they do. It is pretty fun.
Give me a holler if you have questions, I can try and answer them.

Oh, might as well put in a couple other examples of what I did there!

Oh, LOL...I forgot I already shared that picture of my framed photo! I actually put it into a more ornate frame yesterday, and finally had DH hang it on the wall. Yay!

I am going to have to play around with the Picnik site. I really like the "dashing through the snow" picture!

Thanks, I like that one too. It's Kizmit and Smokey (who we lost this Oct. To cancer) running through the stomach deep snow in the paddock.
I thought it might make a pretty Christmas card or some thing....

Oh, and glad to hear you got your pic of Bruno hung up too!

Share your Picnik experiments with us when you can. It is always interesting to see what other people come up with!

Of course! It is still very fresh. At least you can rest your head knowing you cared for your horse who was loved and wanted. That is soooo much more than so many horses get!

But it is still a difficult thing...to lose a beloved pet. I promise you it will get easier with time.
