19 Kids and Counting...

Alright, I admit I have maybe watched this showed once or twice and I don't know if the parents have a special religion or something that makes them have the desire to have so many childern but am I the only one that thinks that it's a little...disgusting?

The only reason I thought about them is because I was watching the Today show and they had an announcement that the mother is having her 20th kid.

I don't understand this! Do they think they are doing the society good, contributing to the world's over population? Or are they so special they need to reproduce themselves as much as possible? I don't understand it!

I say if they can support them, without living off any special funding from the state or anything- go for it. I actually really admire her, to be able to HAVE 19 kids, homeschool them and have them be as nice/polite and wholesome as they are- that's AWESOME. I would like to have more people like that in the world.

They say they are going to keep having babies as long as g-d lets them or until he tells them to stop....

Their religion IMO. In the Bible it says kids are a blessing...
I could've swore I heard from something somewhere that their religion believes that their kids will be saved if the parents are or something. Im not completely sure that's true though.

I'm sure she would have some sort of goverment money income (welfare?) if she didn't make so much off her TV show.

They had most of the kids before the show started and were able to support them. I've NEVER seen the show but I have seen a few interviews and they seem like the kind of people that should be raising kids. I wouldn't choose to have that many kids but I would certainly not call thier decision disgusting.

Before they became the Freaks of the Week, her husband supported the family quite well.

I say if they can support 'em all, more power to 'em. None of my business what people decide to do with their reproductive tracts.

Some people are of the opinion that NOT having children is disgusting and selfish, so it goes both ways.

Agreed. I couldn't imagine having that many children, no way, no how, one is enough for me. From the little I've seen, they do seem to be excellent parents and more power to them.

I'd rather see folks like them with that many children than someone who keeps having more and relying on the system and us as taxpayers to support them.

My only issues is she is starting to have problems, her last kid almost died.

They actually own commercial real estate and rent it out and make a living that way. There was an episode where they talked about it...im sure the TV show helps, but I don't think they are the type of people to rely on one source of income and just pray that it helps them forever.
