Phillip as a terrific singer in IMHO, but I think they should keep his sound bites to a minimum. The things they air on him make him a little harder to connect to as a whole. However I appreciate his song choices and his vibe.

I think "the save" is a good thing. Good singers go home because the voters do that thing where they think everyone else will vote for the best singer, so they instead vote for someone they feel sorry for. To me, the save is a reminder that that is not how the competition works and that it's a singing competition, not a popularity contest. People have resumed voting for Jessica since then it seems.

I know Jessica is the better singer, but I really wish the judges had a save to use on Colton. He was unique and I liked that.

I do like Phillip (like I said, I like most of the contestants) and I agree that he makes some good song choices, especially for his style. I have to disagree about his soundbites though. His extremely dry and sarcastic humor hits home with me. I love to listen to him talk about the other contestants. Lol

My last comment was one I made on FB after hearing "The Queen Experience." If it's not Freddie Mercury, it's just not good enough. The singer was fine, but knowing the song as done by Freddie made the new guy seem lacking. I wish I had been old enough to see Queen in concert before Freddie passed away. I can't even imagine how the music industry today would be if he was still alive.

I'm still not over Skylar .. HOWEVER I is infinitely better for her. She can go sign with a country record label and not be strapped to J Iovine and Interscope Records ...

Scotty McCreery and Carrie Underwood seem to have done fine by winning.

Of people who have lost in the past, I think the person it worked out best for was Chris Daughtry. That way he really had the upper hand to demand what he wanted such as bringing his band along with him. I'm not sure Skylar has that much star power to be able to demand anything. I'm sure she'll have a record out soon enough though.

Every year the judges say "this is the best top (insert whatever number here) that we have EVER had." It always makes me go, "What?!?" Honestly, I feel like the competition has been fairly weak this year. :(

I think the talent this year and last year was exceptional .....

Also, I never said winning wasn't good .. What I said is that I thought it would be infinitely better for Skylar .. that's all.
