Doctor Who 50th Anniversary

Anybody out there get a chance to see it? I thought it was amazing~
What did you guys like/dislike about it?
I honestly adored how they found a way to honor all the actors who have played the doctor, by having them stand together, and by mentioning all of them in the credits, I thought it was really touching.

For the most part I liked it! However there were somethings I didn't like. SPOILERS AHEAD SO READ AT OWN RISK!!!!

I did like how most of the doctors were honored, though I would have liked more of the actors to be brought in or at least offered the chance. I loved David Tennant being back on.

The things I didn't like were Moffat's style. Though to be fair I don't like a lot of his stuff. The opening felt a bit rushed/wibbily wobbily which I can understand because it's Doctor Who, but Davies pulled it off much more coherently than Moffat does imo.

I also didn't get why Billie Piper was in there. She didn't do much and reminded me too much of scrouge and the ghost of christmas past.....

I also would have liked to see how he and Clara got out at the end of the season episode..... maybe I missed something?

And finally while I like the fact that Gallifrey was brought back and that now he's going to go look for it I'm a bit miffed that in 78 minuets Moffat took away the tragedy from the character. Personally it felt like a bit of a cop out to me on how easy it was to do this considering it was supposed to be impossible. I would have liked to see it be a little bit harder to do.

All that being said I liked it and the above's just me nitpicking and giving my opinion. I do like the new doors it's opened though.

I finally got to see it last night! I am a die hard Doctor Who fan, been watching my entire life (started with John Pertwee). I loved it too, it was a pleasure to watch. Actually I am quite glad that the tragedy aspect has been removed as this was a comparatively recent thing. Prior to that the Doctor had always been a mysterious, lonely, interesting character but with no 'Planet Destroying' big secret.

I don't know why Christopher Ecclestone fell out with the Beeb over Doctor Who, but I think it was a shame he couldn't or wouldn't take part in the day of the doctor.

But, hey - that did not spoil my enjoyment.

And those sucker-covered Zygons! Classic Doctor Who monsters!

Yes, I saw it. It was really good. My DH thought it was the best ever, but I missed Sylvester McCoy (MY personal Favorite Dr.), and Christopher Eccleson (sp?). Apparantly you can torrent an accompanying 50th that includes all living Dr.'s, but I haven't seen it, yet.

Love Dr Who (ever since I was tiny a long time ago).

I think it was very clever and entertaining. As the Dr only gets 13 lives (12 regenerations)...he needs to find The Time Lords so they can grant more lives if the series is to go on. (Apparently The Master was given more regenerations as a reward in early episodes).

I think John Hurt was awesome and looking forward to the new Dr and how he pans out

Ooh, that's interesting. Glad there's a loophole already been created :)

YES! I was so irritated that moffat changed the whole destroyed-his-own-race element to the doctor. It made him a much more complex, interesting character IMO. Plus, I wanted more of an answer to the last episode! It was nice to see the other doctors though.

It wasn't "Rose", it was the Rose/TARDIS creature when she merged with it, 1st season reboot, 2005. Notice the yellowed eyes, like when the Dr. Regenerates? I live with two Dr. Who CRAZY fans who talk about this ad nauseum...

No, it wasn't Rose or the Rose-Tardis merge

The 'moment' had achieved consciousness, something which the Time Lords know, and were nervous about.

When the Doctor activated it, the Moment's consciousness appeared before him in a form which it accessed from within the Doctor's timeline. She explained that, saying that she was taking on the form of 'Rose Tyler', otherwise associated with the word 'Badwolf'. She acknowledged that the John Hurt Doctor hadn't yet met Rose - but kept that form to talk to him.

So it gave Billie Piper a role in the programme, without bringing back Rose.
