I know that I have a friend or two who didn't like it- because they bought/watched it assuming that it was an actual training video like CA's natural horsemanship video things, and what they got was the life and thoughts of a trainer instead.
IMO though, you can't learn anything really useful from a video because it takes hands on experience to understand the horse. So I didn't go into the movie assuming that I was going to learn something (though it actually did get me thinking!) and I really enjoyed it. A big part of my way of testing a trainer is by learning about his personal life and how he handles different situations. The fact that they showed a lot of that really pleased me because I felt like I actually got to meet part of HIM, so that I could better understand his thought process and methods in training a horse.
And his adopted mother... my gosh, I loved her! And that joke...it was corny enough to make me laugh, atleast! XD
I knew it wasn't going to be a training video. I just felt it wasn't enough, not enough of his life to make it interesting for me and not enough training to get much out of it. Besides the crazy woman with the crazy stud, it was kind of bland. IMO
