Painted Veil... I really liked it.

"On hyviä vuosia, kauniita muistoja, mutta kuitenkaan, en saata unohtaa,
Että koskaan en ole yksin, varjo seuraa onneain.
Vaikka myrsky hetkeksi tyyntyykin, varjo seuraa onneain.
Ja pian taas uusin hönkäyksin, varjo seuraa onneain.
Hei tuu mun luo, pieneksi hetkeksi. Puhutaan, varjoni, valkoiseksi enkeliksi."

Dangerous Liaisons
The Body Snatcher
Bedlam
The Count of Monte Cristo
Frankenstein (The original one with Boris Karloff)
Dracula (Again, the original. Bella Lugosi at his smexiest. )

That's all I've got at the moment...

"A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is ultimately to be at peace with himself.
What a man can be, he must be.
" Abraham Maslow, 1968

Oh I LOVE Braveheart!

Try Kingdom of Heaven. It's quite a religious movie, but you don't have to be very religious to enjoy it.

I would also recommend:

The Colt - It's set during *I think* the American Civil War?

The Fawn - I have no idea where it's set, but it's quite old.

Invictus - A South African movie set pre 1994.

That's all I can think of right now. :)

Every girl wants their own LOVE STORY, I found mine... :)

While it doesn't take place in "old" times, A Painted House is beautiful movie that I adore.

well not any. Have you seen the newest "3 musketeers" movie? Blasphemy!

There are So many good movies that take place in a different time. Do you want historical? Or [medieval] "fantasy" type?

I like "Newsies" which is a disney musical, but it takes place turn of the century and has lots of horses and horse drawn carriages. <- which I'm in love with! - based on real events.
(it's the most recent dvd I dug out of my collection and watched.) ;)

Water for Elephants! Plus, it has horses :)

The well-known saying “chestnut mare, beware!” is not completely without foundation. Some go further and add “chestnut Thoroughbred mare, beware!”
