Saddle Club Rant

Ok, I have to admit, I love the saddle club. I think I liked the original series better but I'm still watching the new on. And they done PI$$ED ME OFF!

There was this episode where they had to jump this big oxard. Veronica couldn't do it and got mad at Garnet so she go's out and buys this new bit.

Lisa makes her stupid saddle club remark "Veronica! I can't believe you, that's one of those bits that hurt the horses mouth!"

Ok, it's a wire bit and not many teens/kids have the hands to use one of them correctly but it go's to that hole, harsh bit nonsence, when the truth is, the bit is only as harsh as the riders hands. Now, she puts this bit on and geuss what? She makes the jump! The horse is refusing because she's scared yet a wire bit makes it better? her problem comes back when Lisa steals the bit. What does the bit have to do with it?

They decide her problem is in her confidence so how is a bit going to push the horse forward over the jump?

Sorry... rant over.

Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy"

I loved the saddle club, sadly I don't watch it anymore. I had no idea they had a new series.

Eh - I watch Saddle Club (hangs head in shame) and I liken it to other shows I enjoy --- they are great for entertainment. Take military series, for example, if I watch them from the critical point of view of knowing that is NOT what would be done, said, used, etc it makes the show a lot less enjoyable. If I take it for what it is, fiction, it's fun to watch. It isn't meant to be educational programming.

I don't watch the Saddle Club, but that sounds in line with pretty much every horse related series or movie.

As macpack said, if you try to take it as real life you're going to give yourself a coronary over all the stupidity and mistakes!

I loved LOTR, but the horse scenes made me actually snort with amusement. Especially the part where the horse comes back for Aragorn.

Even my best and brightest would have headed off for parts unknown until the battle was over. IF he came back, it would only be to see if I was alive enough to feed him!

Black Beauty, Flicka, Wild Fire, Black Stallion, even Hidalgo at times. All very misleading about how actual horses are. I know of many girls who feel asif they can jump on any horse and have a "special connection" with them. Yet they have never touched a horse in their life.

I stopped watching the Saddle Club for one reason

They yank on the horse's mouths mercilessly.

I haven't seen the show the OP references, but that show irritates me. Other than the ridiculous plot lines, the way they ride is cringe worthy.

Plus, the characters aren't at all how I pictured them from the books. They're kind of flat and generic.

I saw that episode. (by the way, I'm glad I'm not the only one who watches that show... I am Way too old to be watching it without embarrasment)
Anyway! the bitting thing bothered me too. in fact a lot of what "the saddle club" does irritates me. (butting in where they don't belong.) I find the newer series especially irritating. - I guess all the kids got too old and were no longer cute so they had to hire an entirely new staff.. I'm thinking they got new writers too, because it's terrible! imo. ...and yet I still watch! *haha*
