    saw Lone survivor

My wife and I went and saw the new movie "Lone Survivor". It isn't the feel good movie of the year however it is an excellent movie. I don't believe I have heard a movie theater as quiet as that one when the movie ended. Maybe since" Saving Private Ryan" however this is a true story.
Now its time to go reread the book.

I loved that movie although I almost started crying by the end.

I haven't seen it yet, but want to. I have heard pretty much the same thing you have said. When it ends, everyone sits there. I know when I do see it it will be emotionally draining, especially in light of my signature. Prior to his death, he and I discussed the book, and he had some REALLY strong feelings about Marcus writing the book…..and the fact that they basically took a vote as to what to do with the herders. As a leader of a SEAL team, he said there is no vote. The leader should have made the decision, and it would not have been to let any of them live. He made it clear that SEALs talking about "business" is not the norm, and from knowing him as I did, I know that.

I do want to see it. My mom has an affinity for "True stories" so I'll probably see it with her.

It was quite easily the most powerful movie I've seen in awhile.

We went as a company FRG and ALL the wives were crying.

Add on the fact that one of them is apparently distantly related to me and yeah.

AND the survivor/author was in the movie as well.

I know I could NEVER do that. Kudos to him

I saw it a couple of weeks ago and it truly is a phenomenal movie. Very powerful.

Of course, I cried like a baby but it was more than just the movie. If I had known that it was going to be as....vivid...as it was, I probably wouldn't have gone to see it. I normally don't have a problem with stuff like that but my cousin, who I've been best friends with my entire life, just went to Afghanistan about a week before.

I saw it a day or two after it came out. It was easily one of the best and most powerful movies I've ever seen. I tell everyone to go see it. The same thing happened in the theatre I was in when I went - it ended and you could hear a pin drop. I was fighting back tears throughout the movie, especially at the end. I would go see it again in a heartbeat. The next day I ordered the book, which I'm going to be picking up this weekend and hopefully reading while on holidays next week.

The book has a lot more about his time in the village. That in of itself could make a movie.

I've got the book on my Kindle. Trying to work up the nerve to actually start reading it.
