I think they were his "lab rats" (as well as the old man that they were doing the memory tests on) for future research to save his daughter.

I think it's an element of both trying to turn his daughter back, and because he's sick. It's rather bizarre that he still loved and cared for his daughter while having her next to those heads.

I agree with AlexS on this one. I think he so desperately wanted to help his daughter. Even though I think the general is, well, not the most likeable character, you have to give him credit for doing what no one else (that we know of) will, attempting to find a way to get through to them.

This is what happens when you have democrats in office

I agree. As sick as it may be the mom in me gets it. Not that I like the governor but the intention makes his crazy a bit more understandable.

Yeah, the dad in me kind of gets it, too, though in the end I'd hope I'd be strong enough to set my little girl free. Wow, the mere thought of it is making me sad.

Aaanyway, how shall we occupy ourselves in here until February?

Debate whose barn would be the best to survive/wait out the zombie apocalypse in, or write and share "fan fiction"?

Not going to lie... I have never seen a single episode. I promised DH I would watch the first episode online tonight and see if I can get into it a bit more.

My main reason for this? So I can have a better understanding of the Squid Hat Zombie Survivalist Army

I'm going to watch the blu-ray box sets of the first 2 seasons and then re-watch the 3rd season on the dvr. That's my plan

I think the heads was his way of tracking his failures in trying to save his daughter (like how some authors mount rejection letters). Each head was a reminder of a failure (they states zombies) and was a reminder of how he needs to keep trying.

Or maybe he was just a flat out sicko.

I want to go with sicko... While a lot of the heads were walkers, that doesn't explain why he had the army guy's head in there too... Maybe they are the heads of those who challenged his authority (or who he thought would).

Also, I hope Daryl stabs Merle in the eye.

Mods, grant me the serenity to see the opinions I cannot change, courage to change the ones that should change, and the wisdom to spot the trolls.
