I read the book a few years back and am delighted they made a movie of it! I know my aunt is dragging my uncle to see it on Christmas, and she sent me a gift card to the movies so I can see it sometime soon.

I was lucky to see the movie a few weeks ago and loved it! I plan on buying the DVD and I'd also love to read the book.

I'm excited, too! I have been trying to find a list of the horses and the breeds used to play Joey (I read that they used 15-18 different horses to play the lead). One looks like a Cleveland Bay... I hope it is, anyhow, to get the breed out there and more people interested in them!

With both my dad and brother being "war-freaks" it seems like the perfect movie to make everyone happy! CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE!! (and own, at that!)

My friend got advanced screening passes for me and my barn friends last week and it was wonderful! Soooo sad, lots of scenes where the horse realisticly would die but doesn't (of course) and all the war parts are sad. :(
I loved the movie tho! It's honestly just like black beauty but in a different context...horsie lovers will love it but hate it cause it's so sad!

Also, when you watch it, the main horse changes breed multiple times haha. First he's a TB, then a draft, then a draft cross, then some gaited breed, then a hano, etc. See if you guys can spot the different breeds! ;)
