Yes, very true. I think that's what I had a difficult time with War Horse. There were moments, more then a few, where as a horse person, I was groaning at the exaggerated and unreal behaviors of the horse/s. I did like some of the human interactions. The German and American soldiers helping the horse in no mans land for instance. They could well have been in a bar sharing a beer, they were people, not enemies at the moment. Also, the German in charge of the horses pulling the big guns, he could easily be pictured as a man working in a toy store. Big , gentle man.
