Was going to see the movie but decided against it, Movies are never the same as the book.

I can say in this case that's an excellent decision - I remember chomping at the bit (no pun intended) for this movie to get to our area, and had big tears in my eyes watching the trailer on Youtube. It was very, extremely cheesy in most parts, although the trailer only showed horses, scenery, etc. making it look better than what it was. You'd be better off going out for a nice dinner instead :)

I thought this was the most unrealistic horse movie i've ever seen! (Expt Flicka 2. That movie is horrid compared to the first and old ones).

My friend was bawling her eyes out while all I could do was hope it ended soon. I just found it a load of fake bordem.

I love Seabiscuit! I've seen it a million times! The cup is also good.

Cross Country- The act of hurling yourself and your equine partner at a stationary object with poise and grace while attempting to survive...

Urgh I didn't like Flicka at all, and it's one of two movies that I've ever bought. I didn't even bother to see Flicka 2. There's an old one?

I don't know about you guys.. but I loved The Pie (forget what the movie is called) but it's in black and white. That's my favourite horse movie.

Still haven't seen this one, will wait till it comes out on DVD as it sounds disappointing and not worth 16 NZ to go see.

I wish they would make a good movie about Barbaro, personally. Of course the ending will be a terrible tear jerker!

I think the most recent horse movie of excellence was Secretariat - my husband, (who's not a horse person but likes a good movie), and I saw it at the theater 3 times, and I know I'm the first one in my county that bought the dvd when it came out. To this very day I still have tears on my cheeks when I hear the words, "There you go, Red!" from the loyal stable hand, Eddie, as that sweet horse accomplished the unbelievable.... :)

Hmmm...I really liked the movie War Horse. I didn't read the book until AFTER though so I wasn't picking out discrepancies like I do in all the other horse movies where I'v read the book of first. Still even reading the book and seeing the differences it will still be a movie for my collection.

Eh, this is one of the few horse movies that I truly didn't like very much. I don't expect everything done by Hollywood to be 100% correct, so I've learned to just accept little technical discrepancies in movies...but war horse was a big joke to me.

I can deal with a bit of the fluffy majikal crap just because it comes with the territory, but, let me put it this way, the existence of the unicorns in the movie "Legend" was more believable than a good portion of War Horse. If I hadn't paid good money to watch it in the theater, I would have walked out. I wish now I would have waited to watch it on HBO; at least then I would have been able to just change the channel.

I like the book, it's a bit touchy-feely-majikal, but it's a children's book, it's supposed to be that way. I guess I expected more from the movie (especially coming from Spielberg) and it was nothing but a massive fail.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
