Its times like that I wish I had a video camera. He's been fascinated with them since he was really wee - I play professionally (although not strings admittedly) so he's been around the orchestra from before he was born - I have this gorgeous clip from a television doco that was done about a tour I was on of him at about 16 months old sitting on my friends lap while she was playing her cello cackling with delight and humming along.
A colleague of mine found this dinky little cello (it looks like a viola its so tiny!) when he was clearing out his late mum's attic and asked me if Id like it for my son - and when ever we have friends (most of our friends are muso's as well) over one or another of them ends up teaching him a little ditty as he rushes off to get it as soon as he see's who is at the door hahaha.
He's not bad for such a wee lad!! We do get some wierd looks from the preschool teachers when he comes in with blisters on his fingers, although they've mostly calloused over now.
Lol when he was really little he used to sleep in her (my mates) cello case while we were rehearsing - very sweet :0
Lol, well I'd certainly rather he was doing that as a teenager keeping out of trouble than modifying and hooning about in fast drift cars like his father! Especially as his best mates dad is a cop hahahahahahaha.
It keeps him busy :) he wanted to play too at a private concert my mates quartet was playing and so they were kind enough to let him play - lol they were in black tie , he was wearing a rather loud sesame street onesie and bright red elmo slippers.... thankfully the audience ( a group of older ladies at our local country club) were kind enough to receive his enthusiasm well..
Wild Horses - Natasha Bedingfield
I absolutely love this song. Not just because it has the word "horses" in it hehe. It's just that I've been going through so much pain lately and I just wish I could run away with the wild horses.
