Haha, totally agree. Spirit is by far the best horse movie out there.

As for the others....eek. I liked Secretariat enough to watch it twice, but no more than that. I didn't like the Black Stallion, but the first season of the series wasn't half bad. The second was crap though. Didn't even bother to go see War Horse, hated both Flickas, and Touching Wild Horses was ******ed as well. I did like Misty of Chincoteague and Dreamer wasn't TOO bad.

I'm going to go with The Man From Snowy River.

Nico The Last Unicorn was pretty awful. There's also another one that was even worse, but I forgot the name. It was so bad my mind won't let me remember it!

I forgot about "Second Chances". It's the kind of movie that has you laughing your butt off throughout because of how ridiculous it is. To sum it up, a recently disabled child buys a "vicious" horse for $4 that is, quite honestly, more broke than any of my horses, and trains her to be a top-class barrel horse by running the pattern over and over again every day.

If anyone's looking for a good horse movie that doesn't make you want to pull your hair out, watch "The Long Shot". Of course, there's several parts that just make you shake your head (e.g. Riding a horse that's been out of work for several months in a Grand Prix freestyle...), but the majority is decent. It's about a recently divorced mother who carts her newly blind dressage horse around looking for work and eventually is able to ride dressage with him again.

The Horse Whisperer...what a STUPID movie! The whole thing should have never gotten past the 9 minute mark when the two idiot girls forced their frightened horses up the icy bank despite the horses clearly trying to let the girls know that something isn't right. They should have named that movie, "two stupid spoiled girls who kill their horses so their mom can hit on Robert Redford."

Flicka 2!! Oh my god I thought I was going to die. The beginning was awful, it was so cheesy, flicka was not an arabian thank you very much and do I need to even say a word about the reining portion of it? Ew.

Yes, there were some pretty stupid parts in The Horse Whisperer. The only thing I really liked about it, and I know most people wouldnt know this, is that Buck Branaman actually helped with the filming, giving advice and even had his horse star in a scene or two when they couldnt get the movie horses to pull a certain trick.
Also, alot of the roping scenes were actually done by him and not Redford ;)
    Little fun fact lol

Am I the only one who didn't like National Velvet? :/
The whole storyline seemed a bit far-fetched, and Elizabeth Taylor seemed like a total airhead (that just might be my opinion but I thought she was a complete ditz in this movie). The lottery for the Pie (or Pi I don't really know how it was spelled) was very predictable. Strike that, the whole movie was predictable. The training/jumping part looked awkward, and the chances of her really riding in the Grand National?
I haven't seen it in years so I can't really pick out most of the parts I really disliked, but it just was 1. Very unlikely 2. Very predictable.
