Aromatherapy--anybody here use it?

I watched a recent episode of "The Horse Show" and Rick Lamb had an interview with trainer Mary Midkiff, who trains with and sells aromatherapy oils. I had to DVR it bc when my gelding threw me and broke my arm in 2004, DH couldn't load him in our trailer, but, fortunately, there was a guy on site who used aromatherapy at his stable, and he used this to coax our horse inside the trailer. DH remembered he used "something lavendar"--I'm the wrangler, but I was doped up getting my broken arm attended to at a local clinic and couldn't help.
I hadn't seen any threads about this, but I am intrigued with the idea of massaging with these oils to relax and focus the horse. What do you all know about it?

Yes, I use lavender. I will usually put lavender lotion on my hands arms, and face area as my horse likes to nuzzle me there. There is also a lavender mussel oil, I have purchased off the Internet. I just goggeled it. My horse seems to enjoy it very much.

I use lavender on a nose roll with nervous horses. When I take the halter off, the horse still smells pretty
