dashygirl, you are very welcome :) It's true with some horses that they would be fine to never have treats in training. It's just not important to them.
The thing with horses is that praise really means very little to them because they don't necessarily understand it.....dogs understand it, as do humans, but that's because we are a predatorial species. Horses aren't. Horses want safety, comfort and play, and with some horses, food! Lol. A release of pressure can mean the world to a horse, and that's the reward, but for the confident horses it's just not going to cut it sometimes.
