I start with the very basic games right from the git go with my foals. As soon as they get a halter on, we do Friendly, then after a little of that we start to do YoYo, then Porcupine and when I start leading them alone, we do Circle. Once we've got leading down pretty good, we start with Squeeze by taking them between the back of the trailer and the garage, in between the trucks, stuff like that. I save Sideways and Driving till they're a little older. I generally don't exceed 15 mins with them while they're babies. Might go as little as 5, depending on the day.
When I start leading them, if they want to crowd and they usually do, we start very lightly on yielding shoulders and hindquarters, just enough to give them the idea they need to move off of me.
