Ideas Ideas Ideas I need Ideas from you !!!!

Ok first of all there is alot of frost out here. It has made the roads too slippy to ride on and the ground in the fields is very hard and uneven and would in no way be good for working horses. But my horses Patch and Phoebe have not been worked in awhile. Well Phoebe was ridden for the first time in three weeks yesterday.

So I thought that I would try out some natural horsemanship groundwork that I have been meaning to do for a long time.

So I was just wondering what are your ideas for a starter of this with a high strung mare and a hyper active pony?

Thank you all in advance

You could do the Parelli 7 Games with them.

That's a good idea I am just unsure about the second one about how much pressure you should use?

On the second game, the porcupine game which teaches the horse to yield to and from steady (or direct) pressure (vs. the driving game which teaches the horse to yield to and from implied pressure) the Phases you use are:
Phase 1: press the hair (yes, this is how light you need to be)
Phase 2: press the skin
Phase 3: press the muscle
Phase 4: press the bone
When teaching this you go very slowly....put pressure on slowly and release quickly and reward the slightest try so the horse can connect the dots...so he learns what happens before what happens, happens!
