Hehe. Twins with twin horses. Love it.

My twin besties always had polar opposite horses. Big black TB and small grey arab, then a bay and a tobiano. :P

And yes, liberty work is cool, it's an awfully broad topic though. I feel like some folk believe they are doing 'liberty' work when really they are just being unsafe. That said, I know many people are safe about it and can get creative with it!

True liberty work is done without the halter and outside the confines of a small pen. It takes on a whole new meaning when done out in pasture. That'll blow yer sox off!

Don't put yourself down. The fact that you enjoy it would certainly set the mood for the horse.

I have to disagree.

Liberty Riding is a wonderful way to demonstrate the relationship between you and your horse and showcase the abilities you both possess. It should never be done in an open environment for numerous safety reasons (including keeping others safe).

I see far too many people jump on the band wagon without any sound logic.

Horses, no matter how well trained, are prey animals that have minds of their own. Riding at liberty in an environment that is not controlled is putting you, the horse, and others at risk and should never be done. Stick to arena work and always make sure you ride the safest you can.
