Meh. All I've heard is that he greatly exaggerated his stories about his father beating him and the horses with chains, and all that jazz. Which in the end, does nothing to change the fact that he's a brilliant horse trainer who's had a lot of influence on the equine community with his methods.
However, I HAVE heard rumors about him withholding food and water, as well as being physically tormenting to horses before his demonstrations to make them submit easier. I really don't think I believe that, as it's completely hearsay and sounds like sour grapes to me.
I don't have any doubt that he did with Shy Boy exactly what he said he did. So in the end, I don't see how any of it matters if he felt it necessary to lie about or exaggerate his past. It's like that big "Million Little Pieces" that was a HUGE success, raved about by Oprah and then they discovered that he lied about most of it. Who CARES?! It's STILL a brilliant book that affected a LOT of people!
I hope God tells her to smash her computer with a sledgehammer.
