Natural dressage

Here is another 'form' or 'method' of natural horsemanship which really works for the horse's benifet.

I have been looking up this method for a long time and I thought I should share it!

So this method IS natural dressage, meaning the horse learns to naturally collect itself and express itself freely with out the use of a bit, however a bitless bridle is encouraged if not using a cordeo (a rope that goes around the horse's neck)

Here are some links if you are interested to learn more:

Nevzorov Haute Ecole
The Art Of Natural Dressage - Without any form of Force, Cruelty, Punishment & Dominance.
Enjoy!

I admit I did not read the whole site. I find it interesting (in a what the heck sort of way) that in all the photos on the site advertising natural dressage there are only 2 photos with a horse with a rider on it. The rest are horses doing all kinds of ground work things.

I do some of AND with my mare and she LOVES it! I had to adjust a few things that fit me and my horse but I really like it. I do more of the clicker training way though. I got back into it since Chances injury and im hoping it will help

Yes, they do lots of ground work to build trust, streach muscles and learn from their horses. I beleive ground work is good, but its nice to ride sometimes at least.
Also the groundwork (streaching and playing) helps them collect naturally!

Aren't they the ones that won't even talk to you if you use a halter and shoes on your horse or something weird like that?

I guess I am just saying that one would think that if all this ground work turned out amazing dressage horses thru love and such that there would be lots of photos of horses doing actual dressage on their web site. Not just horses doing ground work.

Alwaysbehind, I agree. The AND I don't totally agree with everything. It seems they think that the horse decides on when you get on or off. The horse decides. That is what I understand. I suppose it all depends on what you value and what you want from your horse
