gypsygirl: Thanks, I have been working on that with her. (:
Kayty: Really? I brush my trainers horses all the time in winter....hmm..

I'm a cowgirl. I break horses, I wear jeans and boots and I play in the mud. (:

It sounds like the owner is Ok with you working with the filly. She's 2, and he doesn't have a trainer? What are his plans? As long as you go along with his plans and are eager to learn (and it sounds like you want to and have a handle on teaching the basic.) Read, talk to people and ask questions. Find someone to bounce ideas off of that you trust about horses. Good Luck.

Well good luck to you! Don't let ego get in the way if you do find out the horse is past your skill level. You don't want to get hurt, nor the horse somehow. I've been training horses for the past 4 years, and been riding for 12.. I have no shame in saying I can't handle that horse, or give the correct leadership that horse needs. I only came across one horse that I've had to say that to and im glad I did because the girl who let her ego get in the way with this horse... she ended up in the ER.
