I love hand grazing and taking my horse for walks...I also like a good long grooming session, complete with a bath, especially on those hot days that it's too warm to ride anyway! Might just as well spoil 'em!

I love hand-grazing, doing groundwork, just plain grooming, 'games' in the arena, walking him around is fun, and baths. They're all ways to build a good relationship with a horse and to have fun not on their backs! I think that some people just get caught up in the riding part of being around horses, and forget about all of the other things you can do with horses.

Green Broke
I groom her, braid her mane, feed her treats, and hand graze

I like to take days off and do things that my horses like to do. Take them for a role in the arena, hand grazing, grooming, feeding. Anything that prevents them from associating me with work.

There are a few people at my barn who think I'm ridiculous for just hanging out with my guys. This one chick (who never does anything extra for her pony. Just rides, sometimes grooms, and leaves) was like, "Do you live in your horse's stall?"

I was like, "When's the last time YOU spent extra time with your horse?"

Tehehe...I used to get that too, especially when ALL I would drive out to do was to take my horse out to give him a good long groom session, take him for a walk, hand graze him, give him his grain, groom him again, then turn him back out!!! And it's still usually a few hours I'd spend there!

I like to take long walks in the pasture, just letting her graze. Or, just grooming. Taking walks is the most fun for me, though...it's pretty relaxing. Daytona will just stand there & graze, haha. She loves her grass! :P
Grooming is also fun though, because the horse is clean, yet you can still bond!
