I have a 12' lead that I tie to my horse's rope halter to create a hackamore, since his bridle is WAY too small. He seems to be very responsive to it, but I would like to get back to using a bridle eventually. My horse Scotch is quite large, and many of the English reins are too short for him--I love the feel of my marine rope lead when it is used as reins. It is a great length for him and still allows for some play room. Is there a way I can convert my lead into a sport rein with leather slobber straps to attach to a headstall? How would I connect them, if this is possible? Or should I try to buy reins already created for this purpose? Thanks!
