I know you didn't want a critique, but I just have to say I love how calm and relaxed you are .... Good job! A pleasure to watch!

I m sorry I have to be honest, I watched the one where you are riding bareback and it was like watching paint dry. I couldn't watch it all because it was so boring. You and the horse wander up to the barrel and the horse goes awww maybe, I suppose and then grudgingly half assed manages to lift himself over it. You wander back up to it again and the horse has a sniff and goes, nah can't be arsed and you go, OK you don't want to do it you don't have to. You meander him back to it again and he says, oh theres a tractor that is so much more interesting than the barrel I'll wander over and look at that, and you go OK lets do that.

If what you expect to get out of your horse is not much, your achievements are undeniable. Your horse is definitely very relaxed and happy having a rider with zero expectations of it. I know I am being rude I just hate to see such a lovely horse languishing so badly he looked slovenly and it makes me sad.

Who asked your opinion? I didn't :) You don't know why I did what I was doing....he had become unconfident and we were basically doing approach and retreat to build his confidence. He ended up going over confidently. Him getting unconfident was not on film. So before you go and bash something, get the whole story :) I hold high expectations of my horse, thank you very much. He is happy and willing and we have a strong relationship.

Please, can we not turn Spirit's thread into another bash-athon? PNH isn't my personal discipline of choice, but there have been a lot of bashings lately, and I hate to see them spill into other Parelli threads just because they're there. It's the NH board, so there will be Parelli threads. She specifically asked in the OP that we not critique her, and simply wanted to show us what she does with her horse.

Spirit, those are some really illuminating videos, and he sure is a handsome boy.
