    If you want to see how she will do once you tell her to work but you don't want to get on quite yet you could do lunge work. Groundwork is an excellent way to teach and reinforce cues you and your horse use to communicate things like- go right, go left, slow down, speed up, stop, come to me and back away. And these are all things they can learn before you even get on. And it may help you when you're out in the pasture so that she approaches in a manner that you are controlling/comfortable with.
