I'm beyond excited and I can tell talking to non horsie people in detail about my lesson is actually pointless and quite painful for them...
Anyhow! I had my third lesson and it was so much fun! We walked and practiced reversing at the diagonal , careful not letting the horse cut corners. Then I started some no stirrup work. Walking without stirrups. 2 point walking without stirrup - fun!!
Then I worked on walking him over one pole. Then we trotted over the pole. I started to have problems keeping him straight. He always wants to walk on the side- trainer said my leg strengths were not even.
Tried again and he avoided the pole!! I had to kick really hard with one leg to keep him from moving to the side :(
Finally got it :)
Then I tried posting trot without stirrup , this was hard but not to bad- I used the momentum for the horses bounce to post. Plus the lesson horse was very lazy so even if I squeeze he's not going faster. Now trotting over the pole without stirrup was challenging, I almost lost my balance!!!
My hands were quieter, but I still have a bit of steering wheel habit, just work on that. I also need to keep my heel way down!!!
All in all - not too shabby for a third lesson??

Your first sentenced amused me. I thought it was pretty funny
I have the same issue at work where there are no horsey people, so there is no point in ever making any type of conversation about horses because its a foreign language to them. It sounds like you have a great instructor. Looking forwards to seeing photos of your progress
