How to look up a pedigree?

I bought Sherwin as a grade horse but after speaking to the former owner, I've come away with the info that there's a registered name: "Back in Time."

Back to The Future came out in 1985...28 years ago. Back to the Future 2 and 3 came out in 1989 and 1990...23-24 years ago. Everyone who's checked him out has put his age at 24-28 based on his teeth and general appearance.

I don't hold out much hope I will ever get copies of the paperwork so was hoping there's someway to look this up online?

I was told he's a quarterhorse/paint cross...

Contact the paint horse association and see if they have a horse called back in time?

I love associations...not. I looked up the name at APHA without luck. You can only look up a name in the AQHA database if you are an AQHA member. Here is the AQHA link:

Normally the upper part of that where the gender and information is listed, if there is more you can pull it up but what this is telling me is he had no show or racing history. At least you have confirmation that he was registered and the age. Now you could probably go to the American Quarter Horse Association site and see if you can pull up more there.

So is it possible that he's a pinto-colored quarter horse? Cause he looks like a tobiano paint but I was told he was 100% quarterhorse with paint coloring...which we know doesn't really exist, right?

I have a feeling this is him. I wonder if there's any way to get location or breeder/original owner's name?
