According to APHA, Back in Tyme was foaled in 1991 in Strawberry, AZ. His last recorded owner is from Flagstaff, AZ and purchased him in March of 1995. Unfortunately his registration photo is unavailable, or I would compare it to a current photo for you.

Oh that's neat information! So Back in Tyme is from AZ. And if Sherwin is him, then perhaps his last owner just didn't know what she was talking when she said he was "just QH."

That would make him 22 which is also in line with most of the age estimates various people have given me...they range from 24-28 pretty much...with the comment that physically he doesn't look that age, but his teeth do.

If the owner before her bought him in 1995, 18 years ago, this could explain why she thought he was 18. She's in her mid-20's so she would have been really young then and perhaps not aware.

Just last night his trainer said that he doesn't act like a 28yo at all...and that he doesn't look that old.

Oh, just remembered something too...his most recent owner said that they frequently went up to Flagstaff to go on trail rides...that's how she knew him for years before she bought him from the former owner about 4 years ago.

Any way I can get my hands on the name of the Flagstaff owner? I don't want to do anything wrong but I'd sure love to get some more info, especially with his health issues. If I contact the APHA would they tell me? Or if I join will I be able to access that info?

It looks like in addition to a respiratory infection that he may have anhidrosis...he stopped sweating enough in the past week when our humidity skyrocketed. I would just love to get my hands on some vet records if I could get a hold of the person who had him prior to this last gal!

If someone here doesn't want to give you that info, I would try to contact APHA and see if they can give you the info on the last owner of the horse.

You have his name and date of birth .. they will probably give it to you.

If you only get the name .. I'll try do some research for you and see if we can locate them ...

OP you should PM me the names of any previous owners you know of and the name of your trainer. If none of them are listed, I will give you the name and address of the owner of record. I'd rather not post that information on a public site since it isn't really mine to disseminate.

Thanks! Will do! Certainly don't think anything should be posted publicly. :)

I added Back in Tyme to allbreed. Unfortunately, some of his ancestors on his Dam's side are listed as unknown/unregistered. That happens quite frequently with Tobianos.
