Meet my new lease horse

Hi all

I posted last week about a possible lease horse I was going to see, and here he is. Logan is an 8 or 9 year old (will have to check his brand) standardbred gelding, 15.1hh.

He has settled well with his new paddock buddies, and very interested in the 3 other Standies he can meet across the fence.

Please excuse the barbed wire fence in the bottom pic. The friend whose house we are agisting at has only just bought the adjacent paddock and is in the process of replacing fences.

Thank you. I will be doing trail rides only, maybe learning jumping. My daughter may use him for pony club if we decide to go (tried one pony club but was not very well run and on waiting lists at others), but she will also use for trail riding and jumping.

This is a short video of Logan on his first ride out since we got him last Sunday. Riding is a friend of mine who has heaps of experience and is helping bring Logan back into work for me. Apologies for the sideways video - forgot to turn my phone around til nearly the end, so if you're on a laptop/tablet you'll be right, but on a desktop comp you'll have to tip your head! Oops

He was a really good boy apparently. I watched while my friend rode him first in small yard, then he took him on a short trail ride and I met him at the location in the video so they could do a canter on a nice straight section. Was a bit 'looky' as he went along, but all new location for him. Major issue was with a little stream of water running along the side of the road, so a bit of work needed there. But friend was really happy with him for his first ride.

Also couple of short vids of Logan running with his friends on the day we got him.
