Adorable! I'm a sucker for bays with little to no white. I ride a horse named Brego also

Congrats! Haha snow mobiles. I was riding boo out of the driveway when a couple of dudes were being "cool"... I ended up on a galloping horse until we reached the gate to the pasture.

    Update on Brego:

He has settled in so well and it's been weeks since he really spooked. Now when he does it's little more than a snort. :) He lunges brilliantly now too, though we both prefer free lunging. He's had about 45 days of training on him and we're ready for the trails very soon. I think he's bored to tears with arena work, and so am I! With the melting snow the trails have been flooded but they're nearly there.

Here he is feeling his oats!

I adore standardbreds and their jugheads <3 He's so adorable. Good luck with him! Standardbreds are an amazing breed.

What a beautiful boy! I hope to be the proud owner of a standardbred soon, I think they are such an under-valued horse.

Thanks everyone! He's a great boy. I'm so proud of his progress! He also seems to be enjoying the warmer weather and it's put more life in his lazy bones! There were a few particularly cold days I wasn't sure I was going to get him out of his stall. Ha! I'll keep you updated here about his progress. My BO is very involved with the local FFA shows. By the end of the summer I'm hoping to enter him in one of the fun adult category speed shows.

    I love his color!

Most Standies I've ever known have had outstanding temperaments. I've also noticed a lot of them have that gorgeous, rich bay color that yours does.

    Another update:

We've started work on trotting and riding with other horses. He was a little herd bound at first but now he's good to do his own thing as he gains confidence. He has a big ole stride so today I took a posting lesson. I've always rode gaited horses previously so it was definitely different for me!

Here's some pics from today after our session!

He sure worked up a sweat! And his muscle gain has certainly made him a bit less jug headed haha!
