After 12 years hiatus, I'm back to the dark side and enjoying every minute!!
One of the big issue my trainer said I have was my hands when trotting. It tends to go up and down with the trot. Which is absolutely horrible.. I kinda member this comment way back the as well. Is this a common beginner issue? Any suggestions on fixing it? I keep this in mind, but there are a gazillion things I have to think about when riding...
Also, lesson horses- are they all lazy and not wanting to move?? My muscles are not strong enough to squeeze yet, so I have to kick him "left right, left right" to make it walk faster. I felt like I have to squeeze every time I sit down on the trot or else he won't continue to trot. Let lesson (very first after the long long break), I only had to trot little bit. This week, she had me ride in the big arena, and trotting half of it (not quite doing circles yet) and why was it difficult to turn in the middle of the ring and to have him stay on a straight line and continue trotting difficult?? I did it but it was hard work!!!
Any tips? I can't wait till I can canter again!
