Purple water

What is causing my purple puddles in and around my horse areas? Happens every year rainy season which is 8 months longl. It bugs me. Do you think saturating with Vinegar would deter this?

More information would help. Where do you live & keep your horses? Where exactly are the puddles? What do you use for feed & bedding, and do you feed any supplements that might have dyes in them?

I've never seen purple puddles, in horse areas or anywhere else. If you're serious about finding out what they are, lab analysis is the way to start.

For example. I feed in the dry lot two horses all summer and its got a lot of pea gravel but of course pee and poop which I scoop When the rains start the puddles are purple. Just feed grass hat Timothy orchard good quality. No lab fees for me. Happens every year and I've had them over 10 years. But thanks. Thought someone else got it

We occasionally saw purple-ish puddles when boarding at an old facility where the horses had their own paddocks. Was just a combination of urine and manure...

Now if it's in your face purple (like Royal or something) That's a different story...

Yeah I figure that was it but kinda wonder why it goes to purple. Like oxidation or some technical term or fungus or just bacteria.

It might have something to do with the minerals in your ground...a chemical reaction.
Between feces, urine and ??? What minerals you have, you could have a rainbow of colors.
You may also have vegetation decay adding to the mix...

Well thanks you guys. I know its not harmful because nothing bad ever comes of it. Now... About my Paint mare's thick green pee.....!!

Honestly, I would be taking up a water sample and getting it tested to see.

Could be ground water is contaminated by something?

I don't have money for stuff like that. Its only where the horses hang out heavily. Ill dump some vinegar in a puddle after pick some up and
?????
