    Third lesson today - posting

I had my third lesson today and she had me posting. I've never done it before, just seen it, and Oh. My. Goodness. . It's not at all what I expected!

I had thought it would feel very strange and forced, but wow, it's so neat! Just kind of airy and flowy. It's very fun! I did get "off" sometimes and also had a little trouble keeping the trot, but I was able to feel when it was right and when it wasn't.

Just not t all what I expected. I'm shocked!

Good for you! I love posting as my QH has a very bouncy trot to sit. When you find your rhythm it is great and you can use the post to slow down or slightly speed up the horse too. Lots of practice!

Very good! You have a feel for the diagonals, unlike my husband who has ridden English for many years, lessons, etc, still can't figure out the correct diagonal!

Ha! Don't speak to soon...I thought when people said "diagonals" they must mean going across the arena diagonally, like from one corner to another. Yes indeedy I did!

You're doing fine, because "across the diagonal" means just what you said, from one corner to the other. He doesn't know that either, lol! Well at least he takes lessons and rides, I will shut up now.

Sounds like you are doing great! :)
I'm going to be practicing the posting trot during much of my lesson tomorrow. I've always enjoyed it, it definitely feels more natural than the sitting trot.
