Totally confused

So just yesterday we were given a 5 yr old miniature pony from a lady who no longer wanted her due to the mare having stifle and drought conditions, we thought we would take her in and look after her.
Since having her here I've noticed she is very round in the belly, then today she has suddenly dropped at the belly, I checked her udder it's not full but I am able to squeeze clear yellow fluid. She has also what appears to be waxing on the nipples. As I've never owned a mare I'm not sure of what the vulva is suppose to look like but hers seems to be elongated and swollen, I've tried to feel for kicks but nothing.
At first impression I assumed she is in foal but my mind keeps going back and forth as to weather she is or not as only very small amounts of fluid come from just one nipple when squeezed.
I don't know how fat she should look, I've tried searching as many sites as I can to determine what she should look like not in foal but unsuccessful. As she does have stifle it could just be from lack of exercise but once again as we've only had her for such a short time I don't know.
I contacted the lady whom we got her off today to find out if it's possible she could be pregnant and as she is very vague has once again left me totally confused.
She just said "no, definitely not. She had a foal a few months ago but it died from pneumonia.
However I do know that the mare has been exposed to a stallion as she was left in the paddock with the other mares.
I've taken a few different images and will try and upload them ASAP.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as for now my next step is calling the vet.

My guess if she dropped belly and elongated vulva that she is indeed in foal. If you want to be sure call a vet or just prepare for a foal soon and wait till it happens as not much you can do about it now.

If she only "had a foal a few months ago", she will not have another until next year.

I agree is she foaled a few months ago then the liquid you are drawing out could be a residue from the milk she produced.

The only way to find out if she is in foal is to have her scanned.
