The cost of the War in Iraq continues

We all know the loss of lives was staggering and terrible. The financial cost is also staggering. Like one poster stated, "House GOP, want to talk about debt? There's your man that can tell you all about it. And now you don't want to pay the bill by raising taxes? You are so fired!"

    Thanks George W.

    .

    Lets' put that in Perspective

The estimates are over 40 years.

Would it have cost a lot less if Obama had ended the war in 2009 as he promised while campaigning in 2007 and 2008????

How much has Afghanistan Cost?, another War that was promised to be stopped in 2010, but Obama sent more Troops didn't he.

You put all the blame on GW, what about the House and Senate who voted for the Wars?

You want to start blaming cost of Wars on GW, what about all the Wars Democrats Started??? Korea or Vietnam ring a bell???
What about Kosovo, Bosnia or Iraq by Clinton??
Remember cost is not just about money, it is about Lives........

If your hero Obama was so great why did he not put an end to the wars like he promised and as soon as he promised????
Oh, but we don't want to talk about that do we? Let's here the spin and excuses, never mind I already heard them form my Lib friends and they were all weak

Blame me, too. I thought the war in Iraq was necessary. I believed all the talk of Weapons of mass destruction. My conservative mother said it was wrong to invade Iraq, and man, was she right. I was wrong. That war is probably the single biggest mistake we as a nation have made in a hundred years. I feel so duped and so angry about that.

I'm not posting in political threads, but I'll make an exception in this case to correct the ignorance.

While I personally opposed the Iraq War from day 1, I would remind the ignorant that Congress passed the Iraq War Resolution which authorized military action, with 40% of Democrats in the House and 58% of the Democrats in the Senate voting in support of the resolution.

    Duh...

Southern, you can't go in, destabilize the country as was done before Obama and then just pull everyone out. That is totally unrealistic. Yes, Obama wanted to do it. Then, he got elected and realized that it wasn't realistic to expect these cultures to be able to support themselves on such short notice. Remember, when they are so unstable, it presents a bigger danger to us. He has tried to make them more self sufficient, as MUST be done.

Votes based on shameless lies and misinformation. I doubt those votes would have gone that way if the truth had been used.

I love that Bush lied line! A whole bunch of those democrats who claimed they were lied to are on record as saying Sadam had weapons of mass destruction, harbored terrorist, etc during the Clinton administration.

    So who is lying?

Ahem, isn't that the argument republicans were making in the run against Obama? Guess Bush, Cheney, McCain and so on were wrong when they said that but Obama had it right when he followed the path Bush laid out.
