Dr. Carson Nat'l prayer breakfast speech

If you missed this, it's long but worth listening to, IMO.

Dr. Carson for President.
He could undo some of the damage barry has done.

Good speech! Although table participants didn't look very pleased...

Liked his speech but would have like it better had he not tried to "sell" his book and scholarship foundation.

The liberal media, of course, thinks it was an inappropriate venue for the remarks, and although I tend to agree in principle, Obama has used lots of inapproriate venues to "campaign", so from that perspective I say "tough"...what's good for the goose is good for the gander...

I think it was a wonderful, inspiring speech. What Dr. Carson said was so true. I am glad he talked about the debt problems, education system and the general dumbing down of society. If people do not think for themselves there is no true freedom. It didn't go over too well with the president and the others at the table there, but Dr. Carson was speaking the truth and I am glad he had the courage to say it.

Faceman a lot of liberals were urging the president to boycott the breakfast. At least he showed up knowing it was not a venue that was handpicked for him. Isnt it sponsored by a socially conservative organization. Like Focus on the Family.
I cannot hear the speech from my computer due to my hearing loss.
However why would you invite the President then give him an earful of advice that you know he does not listen to or would heed?
Sounds like a publicity stunt to me. Shalom

Didn't the President do that exact thing to Paul Ryan?

I don't know - I don't know what the politics, if any, of that annual event are, but somehow I don't think boycotting it would have done him any good. He has his hands full as it is - the unemployment numbers are up again this week, this morning Walmart reported sales $1 billion less than expected, and if the sequestration takes place next week we will officially enter a new recession, which he will not be able to blame on Bush as we exited the last one 2 1/2 years ago. Add to that the new revelations that he left a "do not disturb" order during the Benghazi attack because he wanted his beauty sleep for a campaign speech in Denver the following day, and he is facing some real issues. On top of everything, the UK reported their economy slid down .3% last quarter and they are likely to slip into the third part of a triple-dip recession, and things are pretty depressing.

Plus, I'm right in the middle of an ice storm. I may go back to bed and leave a wake-up call with you to wake me up when the world gets back to normal...this is too depressing.

Speaking of wake-up calls, I saw a commercial for something or other the other night where this guy checks into a hotel and the clerk said "here is your wake-up call" and handed him a rooster...
