Due process goes out the window when it comes to terrorism.. this is one of my biggest complaints about the Patriot Act. It's not Holder doing "his own thing" when it comes to due process...

I'd rather send in drones than people when we are talking about a definite strike, regardless of where it is. But back to the topic at hand: IMO it's a real slippery slope when we talk about using them for spying on American citizens...

On our old farm I had all powerline put underground. So, no wires at all anywhere. Navy Helos then started crossing it. I didn't care, it didn't bother my horses or cattle or me...or my husband who is a helo pilot.:) But, they were way below 500 ft., let alone 1000. :)

I always knew you were up to no good Redhorse...for those that are not up to no good...surveillance matters not, a strike is a different story.

I bolded the blue in your post. In response it: To know w high accuracly that someone/group intends to "strike" requires very good intelligence. Going back to 911, it doesn't look like our intelligence gathering abilities were sterling, I have no way of guaging how much that has improved. Going forward to Ft. Hood, PC prevents us from even hinting that someone might be a terrorist, or even a sympathizer when they make clear statements to that affect.

As an Officer in the US Air Force I learned very early that in matters of national security there are no innocent bystanders. Or hostages.
The national security is more important than the rights of an individual.
Now I still think human rights are important. Preventing another attack like the one on 9/11 though overides the individuals rights . We need to be very clear about the threat if a drone is used. Shalom

I'm not doing anything illegal but I love my privacy. I don't even like the thought of my neighbor or government looking over my fence let alone the reality of it. Basically it's none of anyones business what is happening out of sight unless I wish to share or there's a warrant involved.

I love my privacy to but the reason I have that privacy is because of the men and women who served. They gave me rights that I sometimes feel entitled to...

I just feel like some folks go a little over the top when it comes to certain things, it's as though we've been given so many freedoms that our own freedoms infringe upon our freedoms.....

    Tha's all I'm sayin'....

Really scares me ignorant uneducated Americans are so quick to flush away our rights and protections.
If we allow the president to simply order executions whats to stop him from odering yours ? Everyone the government doesnt like is labeled a "terrorist" and that makes them ok to murder in many people mind. The government may label YOU a terrorist next.
What ever happened to "Due process". If an American is taking up arms against us present that evidence to an impartial grand jury, issue an idictment for treason, Even then maybe a wanted dead or alive warrant signed by a judge AFTER grand jury of citezens issues an idictment. That's how the system is supposed to work Checks and balances. People, courts, legilative, executive. No one part gets all the power and can't simply murder people willy nilly.
And the American sheeple just go right along with it, because someone SAYS, they are terrorists.

Humm We invade a foriegn country. The locals fight back against an invading army and WE call THEM terrorists.
I am ashamed of my government and the sheeple that elect them.

Hey man... I'm not the one that voted for that guy.... don't call me uneducated. I'm more knowledgeable about the inner workings of these drones than you'll ever know. I'm quite educated on what's really going on... and I can promise you... if you are getting your facts from the media... then... well... you are drinking koolaide... that's all I'm saying...

And before anyone gets mad and burns my britches... The use of the word YOU in this statement is a general tern not directed at anyone in particular....

The problem with drones is that they can't check for women and children.

I remember a drone strike issued by the UN and it blew up a building with 3 young children in it and their mother. The person they were targeting was not in the building. I remember the news barely mentioned it and I was horrified. They were children and they didn't deserve to die like that! This was a few years ago so I don't remember all the details as to where this was at...

When is the US ever not at war? War provides billions of dollars to those companies that develop weapons and military equipment. That puts a great deal of power in a very small number of hands.
