We have chronic wasting disease here, the food bank gets plenty of game meat it just has to go to a processor that is USDA inspected and tests for that.

Dept of Game and Wildlife gives away all "poached" animals, you just have to sign a release of liability form.

The Food Bank here won't touch "Farm Eggs" here despite it being completely legal for me to SELL them to consumers. Whenever they call for donations I tell them they can't be that desperate considering they won't touch eggs that people pay me good $$$ for.

I would guess it has to do with the lack quality and health inspections for game meat. It is governmental CYA.

Yes, I know.......one of their hunters hunts my yard every season. I suspect the issue of serving the public only inspected meat is not far away here, too. Stupid, but with all the lawsuits that surfaces every time someone gets sick, it is understandable. STUPID, nonetheless.

I would guess it has alot to do with what was mentioned earlier. The media using the truth to tell lies. Probably more to the story.
Media pulls this stuff all the time and gullible sheeple Americans keep right on buying it. As they are to lazy to look up the rest of the story. Then they take anything on tv as the gospel.

That's disgusting. If you take an animals life in hunting, you are responsible for using the animal for meat, skin, whatever. This is a complete waste of an animals life. I like hunters and agree with what they do, I do not agree with wasting an animals reason to die. Government officials...

Here is the explanation from the La Dept of Health. You know, inspected meat has to be butchered and STORED in a specific way. They do, kinda, make sense in that there is no way to know how the meat was killed, cleaned and stored. People eating their own meat from similar circumstances accept the risk that the meat had not been left too long, becoming spoiled. THAT is the main reason it could not be used commercially.

I can't say I totally disagree. The people providing the meat may not be all that careful....

Okay - then why not let it be returned to the people that donated it rather than destroying it with bleach?
