    N Korea Rattles Sabres

You can call it sabre rattling blackmail, or you can call it scary. Either way, I am waiting to see Obama's reaction (I just hope it isn't an apology). And, I don't believe NK threatened China as the report states, I just don't.

I don't doubt he is crazy enough to do something like that. I was so hoping his western education would moderate him, but the apple rarely falls far from the tree.

The problem is, what can be done? A drone strike on their nuclear/missile sites? Knowing the mentality of the brainwashed N. Korean populace, it really WILL be hitting a hornet's nest.

    What do you suggest?

What should have been done all along - make China's take responsibility...in those words, which they understand. China has gotten away with pretending they are entirely uninvolved, and mumble some "to bad, that" words. NK has blackmailed the world for decades, and it is b/c of that that they are well armed (FAR beyond where they would have gotten if their demands had not been met).

During the Korean War, in 1951 the U.S. Actually had practice
Bomb runs using dummy A bombs and conventional bombs
On North Korean targets. And President Truman actually signed
An order authorizing A=Bombs use. But never sent the order

Make china ? Umm yeh that can happen. Oooh I know lets get Joe Biden and his libitard buddies to pass a law making North Korean Nukes illegal. I am sure that will work.
Need to just cut them off. This has been a continuation of NK policy, threaten the south, get free food and fuel, repeat. Stop giving them stuff let em starve. If they attack so be it.
    goneriding and gogaited like this.

News flash Joe the population of North Korea is slowly starving and suffering from dire poverty.
Millions are used as slave labour and viewed as expendable.
They have no hope of winning any war and the leader of north korea should understand that.
He should be aware that if he wants to continue to hold power he must ensure the support of the military. Without that support he has no power. Shalom

I'll bet that NK would have china and at least another country or two on their side just based on fear.
I also have a feeling that NK has more nuclear power than we believe. While their leaders have all been lunatics, they haven't been stupid about anything. Their whole country will be their military based on fear of death, because if they don't fight, they'll more than likely be killed. NK leaders have no morals from what we've seen of them (at least IMO).

But, didn't read the article yet, I'll be back for that after some much needed sleep and a meeting in the morning though. These are just the thoughts I've has mulling around my mind for awhile.

    So glad my heritage is south and not north. ;;

An interesting thing....A family on the news managed to escape to the south. They had no idea what to expect, but they thought things were going to be little better than they had in N Korea. They were flabbergasted when they saw the standard of living in the south. They had NEVER seen such food available and never dreamed it was possible to have that kind of food available.

People are lying dead in the streets in both city and country from starvation in the north. We don't see it because no one is allowed to. The people who escape will tell you that no one of the "common folk" believes the life of the west is any better. If they did, then it would shake their faith in their leadership to the core....that is if they would allow themselves to believe it.

Your statement is crude and reflects little understanding of the situation.

While the situation is trully bizzare, where they build massive empty cities and let their population starve and feed their military well - the fact of the matter is that foreign aid is exactly what they blackmail the world for - along WITH nuclear technology, believe it or not.
The thing is, the food that is sent almost never gets to the starving. It is marketed and sold to those that can afford it. I do advocate "cutting off the supply", b/c no matter what you send, it does not go to the starving. So, taking action or no action has the same outcome w respect to the starving...it is not "compassionate", either way. There have been many that made it into china (not shipped to work by day, but as "escapies"), and many more that did not make it alive. They have unbelievable stories to tell.

I doubt the technology Norh Korea has developed is capable of long range accuracy. With the rest of their country so far behind the modern world I cannot see how they are technically advanced in this area.
Without the support and technology from China .
China does not want an aggressive North Korea that will have to be subdued in the future.
The US ralized after the cold war that the Soviets were more bark than bite. Hopefully North Korea is just banging its own drum to secure the new leaders posistion. Shalom
