    Some Facts...

The 85 billion Sequestration is 2.4% of the US yearly expenditures, which are 3.3 Trillion

If we cannot cut our Budget by 2.4% we have a serious problem, I know of no Family that could not find 2.4% in their budget or any Company, why cannot Washington do the same without everyone thinking the Sky is Falling?

In 2010 the US gave 38 Billion to other Countries

In 2011 the US have 49 Billion to other Countries

In 2012 the US gave 47 Billion to other Countries

The 2013 Foreign Aid Budget is 56 Billion ?? Why are we raising the Budget when we have no money, who are we trying to buy off??????

Hello..... no wonder we have such a huge deficit, until we get back on track, keep our Tax Dollars in the USA.

And John Kerry just released 250 million in aid to Egypt

And the DHS and ICE released
2000 illegal immigrants in Feb. And planning on releasing
3000 more in March because they say they have to because
of budget cuts imposed by the sequester. (they were in
    custody waiting to be deported)

Also the DHS has bought 2,717 recently retrofitted 'Mine Resistant Protected' vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.

You may want to read up on past administrations and how much they spent on foreign aid. This is nothing new.

Quote:"Egypt gets the most U.S. Foreign aid of any country except for Israel. (This doesn't include the money spent on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.) The exact amount varies from year to year and there are many different funding streams, but U.S. Foreign assistance to Egypt has averaged about $2 billion a year since 1979, when Egypt struck a peace treaty with Israel following the Camp David accords, according to the Congressional Research Service. That includes military and economic aid, though the latter has declined by more than two-thirds since 1998, according to a recent Congressional Research Service report.

And, as for illegal immigrants.... let's not forget about the millions that Reagan pardoned/granted amnesty (the law granted amnesty to nearly 3 million illegal immigrants).

Ted Kennedy was one of the sponsors the Amnesty Bill if I remember correctly and passed by a Democrat Congress, the actual Commission that helped write the Bill was started under Jimmy Carter, Reagan was for the Bill as it written originally which included a crackdown on hiring illegal workers and securing our borders, but was watered down before it made it for a vote, I believe it had to go through several sessions of Congress, Reagan could have vetoed the Bill I guess, but with such strong support for the Democratic Congress I am sure it would would have been re-voted on to bypass the veto.

There is no doubt that a ton was spent on foreign aid in the past. At no time in the past, however, has our debt been anywhere close to what it is today. They are releasing illegals from jail on the basis of "budget", but not eliminating foreign aid.

What "was" practiced in the past shouldn't necessarily determine/justify what is practiced today for obviouse reasons.

Foreign aid makes up about 1% of the federal budget. Doesn't sound like much until one looks at the budget!
