advice please!!

OK, so I really want to adopt a kitten from our local humane society and I need to convince my mom somehow. She doesn't want any more pets.. we only have one little dog. And I am going to be 18 next month so I can take care of it myself. I want to adopt it before Christmas.
How should I ask/convince her to let me get a kitten or older cat?

Well, honestly..if you are still in her house it's her rules...It's very nice that you want to adopt one from the humane society though! There are so many that need homes...but in order to keep her happy and abide by her rules I'd put off getting one until you move out.

Well, you can save up money so that you can afford your own place where you can have your own pets.

Seriously, do you do all the work for your dog? Walks, feeding, poop patrol? Do you pay for vet bills?

Cats can be expensive initially. There's the fixing (or the $$ for the pound), declawing, etc. Cats can easily ruin your furniture with their claws.

Have you asked your mom to list the objections she has to getting another animal?

Your in canada right?....hmmm right now I have 17 cat's, 7 kittens under the age of 8 weeks (maine coons) wish I can send you a few, but as stated if you still live in your mom's house it's her rules.....

I say sit down with mom and talk maturely about her objections. If you are working and have money for all vetting, that would help. I think it's a matter of figuring out what her problem with it is.

But at the end of the day, keep in mind, her house, her rules.
