Chicken With A Broken Leg

There are some new young chickens at my barn, and the other day on of them broke it's leg. It is extremely friendly and isn't afraid of the horses which leads me to believe it got stepped on. The other chickens were hurting her so I brought her home. She is now living in a box with food and water and a cozy bed in my room. Her leg isn't bent at an odd angle or anything. It is just a bit swollen and she isn't walking on it. I feel bad for her because I'm sure she's in pain. I have heard of people giving chickens aspirin and other pain relievers. Has anyone done this? And if so, how much did you give them? Thanks!

Dont give her people medications. They arnt designed for chickens. You are doing about the best you can for it. Give it food and water, hopefully it will heal soon.

This doesn't sound like an Earl! Haha.

Just keep an eye on her. What you are doing sounds good, but you could take it to the vet if you like. They might show you how to make a splint for her.
